Malcolm DeMille Sculpts Dynamic Trophy for Ocean Reef Club

Ocean Reef Club located in Key Largo, Florida approached Malcolm DeMille for help developing and creating an eye-catching trophy for their Grandmaster tournament—an event featuring ocean fishing and golfing. Ocean Reef Club explained to Malcolm DeMille their desire for a piece of art that would encompass both aspects of the event.
After a proposal featuring several interpretations, it was apparent that a trophy featuring a sailfish jumping out of the ocean captured the most in essence, detail, and composition. The 12” tall nickel-plated trophy not only featured this dynamic scene, but includes smaller details like a golf ball in the sailfish’s mouth, and a crossed fishing pole and golf club front and center. The stunning work of art is displayed on a tiered black wooden base where tournament champions can be displayed for years to come.
